Bitcoin Network Loses 25% of Users Since Tesla Stopped Accepting BTC

Elon Musk’s tweet about Tesla stopping accepting Bitcoin (BTC) payments for its car purchases changed the fundamentals of BTC.

“I estimate about 25% of Bitcoin users have left since Tesla decided to stop accepting BTC. Network size is down 45% from the April 15 peak. The number of active addresses hit the lowest level since October 2020,” said Timothy Peterson, Bitcoin and cryptocurrency analyst at Cane Island Alternative Advisors.

The 45% decrease in the Bitcoin network occurred in tandem with the drop, causing the price of this cryptocurrency to drop to $30,000 by the end of May.

At 7:30 a.m. today, each Bitcoin was trading around $36,000 having failed to return to the 200-day MA for almost three weeks. From this development, analyst Rekt Capital warned of a “death cross” – a possible death cross in the coming weeks.

This crossover occurs when the 50-day MA crosses the 200-day MA from the top. This is usually a confirmation of a downtrend for the asset.

In the case of Bitcoin, a “death cross” looks imminent on the daily BTC/USDT chart as shown below.
