Listening to music while driving is a great way to pass a boring commute. If you already use Google Maps to navigate on your iPhone or Android device, you can also control the music that’s playing with this app.
In an effort to keep you on the road, Google Maps integrates with a number of music streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Pandora, and more. Controls can be placed right on the screen. navigation, so you don’t have to switch apps while driving. The article will show you how this feature works.
Control music playback in Google Maps on iPhone
Open Google Maps on your iPhone or iPad and tap the profile icon in the top right, then select Settings.
Next, go to Navigation.
And now choose Music Playback Controls.
You will see a list of supported streaming services installed on your device. Select one of the services you want to use. Depending on the service, you may be asked to open the app and allow Google Maps to control it.
You can then start navigating to a location.

Open Google Maps on your Android device and tap the profile icon in the top right, then select Settings.
Next, go to Navigation Settings.
Choose Assistant Default Media Provider.
You will see a list of supported streaming services installed on your device. Choose the one you want to use. You may be asked to open the app and allow Google Maps to control it.
You can now start using navigation.
You can immediately see the music app icon in the bottom tray. Otherwise, tap the grid icon to open the app drawer at Driving Mode (driving mode) and select the music app.
This will open a simple interface for you to interact with.
After playing music, you can tap the app icon while in navigation mode to open the media playback controls.
