Xiaomi has integrated the Memory extension feature into the MIUI 12.5 updates. This new feature allows Xiaomi users to add 1GB, 2GB or 3GB of space on RAM through the device memory to run resource-intensive tasks. Depending on the storage status of the device, this virtual RAM will switch flexibly accordingly.

How to enable ‘Memory extension’ feature

  • Step 1: Your device has been updated to the latest version of MIUI 12.5.
  • Step 2: Clean up the machine memory to have at least 5GB of free storage space to convert to virtual RAM.
  • Step 3: Go to Settings -> Additional settings -> Memory extension -> turn on the Memory extension feature so that it always works and automatically set the amount of virtual RAM when necessary, needs
