The 3rd billionaire in Mexico, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, prepares his bank to accept Bitcoin.

Billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego, the founder of Banco Azteca, recently said that Bitcoin accounts for 10% of his investment portfolio.

In addition, he is also preparing for his bank to accept Bitcoin.

“I recommend using Bitcoin. My bank is currently working to be the first in Mexico to accept Bitcoin,” he said.

In an interview last week, the billionaire with a net worth of $15.8 billion said that Bitcoin is a “financial asset” like digital gold. So it doesn’t matter if BTC is a currency or not.

“You can’t bring gold coins to the store to buy a computer. You have to exchange gold for cash, then buy a computer,” he said.

Salinas Pliego shared that governments don’t like Bitcoin because it makes it possible for people to escape the currency trap.

“Currency is a scam. It is designed for systematic cheating. We can see this in America. USD as the official currency of the world. This is a joke,” he said.

Speaking of risks, Salinas said the government could ban Bitcoin but he insisted that this is not the end of cryptocurrencies.
