Microsoft releases update KB5006746 to fix up to 64 errors on Windows 11


Microsoft has officially released optional update KB5006746 for Windows 11. This update fixes up to 64 bugs, including those that cause AMD CPU performance loss and game performance issues.

KB5006746 is part of the October C update plan that has been scheduled by Microsoft in advance. This update allows users to test before the bug fixes will be released in the November Patch Tuesday.

Unlike Patch Tuesdays, C updates will only include bug fixes, not security updates.

Issues that KB5006746 fixes on Windows 11

  • Fixes slow down AMD CPUs
  • Fixed an issue that caused Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to work slower than normal
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Xbox Game Bar recording from working
  • Fixed an issue that caused some apps to run slower after updating to Windows 11
  • Fixed a bug that caused the print attribute to not be provided correctly to the client
  • Fix printer installation failure on some network connections
  • Fixes an issue that prevented you from successfully installing a printer over Internet Printing Protocol (IPP)
  • Fixed a bug that required an Admin account login every time I needed to print
  • Fixed incompatibility with applications that used some non-ASCII characters in the registry key
  • Fixed incompatibility with Intel network software “Killer” and “SmartByte”

To install KB5006746 you need access Settings > Windows Update then click “Check for updates“. Since this is an optional update, Windows will not install it until you click the “Download now“.

Windows 11 users can also download and install KB5006746 manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog page.

For users who choose not to install the KB5006746 update, the patch updates will automatically be installed in the November Patch Tuesday update.
